Sulfur soap bar is a natural and eco-friendly way to control oily skin and clear blemishes

Sulfur facts

It sounds unpleasant, like some kind of poisonous gas. I will assure you now, it is not.

Sulfur, or brimstone as it is also sometimes called, is an organic compound. This mineral looks like a yellow rock or crystal. Sulfur can be found on Earth and is a very common mineral. It occurs naturally on earth and is an essential nutrient needed for all living things. This is why you should include foods containing sulfur in your diet.

Sulfur helps control free radicals in your body that contribute to ageing. “One of the first recorded instances of the art of medication is in the use of sulfur as a tonic.” So sulfur has some amazing benefits for your health. Some benefits of sulfur for skin include:

  • sulfur is a natural exfoliant. Sulfur removes dead skin cells that may clog pores
  • sulfur helps control oily skin by drying it

Fun fact about sulfur is that it is produced inside massive stars under intense heat. A bit like how diamonds are made. I think there is a saying that “we are such things as stars are made of”. Though from some people I have met, I am surprised.

So, we have established that there are benefits to sulfur.

Now, how to use sulfur for skin?

How to use sulfur for skin care?

No, you don’t need to use a rock to scrub your face with. Natural beauty doesn’t have to be so natural…and painful.

Sulfur for skin care comes in many forms. The way I use it is in a from of a solid sulfur soap bar. It looks cool, so I would just buy it for its appearance! The sulfur soap bar looks a bit like it is glowing.

So I use this sulfur soap bar like I would use any soap. I wet my face, work the soap into a lather and apply to face in a circular motion. I sometimes leave it on for a few seconds then rinse thoroughly. Make sure it does not get into your eyes.

How often to use sulfur for skin care?

Depending on how oily your skin is you can use sulfur soap as a face wash morning and night.

Oh and by the way, you can use sulfur soap on any other part of your body where you might have skin problems.

If your skin is sensitive or eczema prone then use it once every few days. Then review and see if there is any reaction.

If not, then use it more often.

Sulfur for skin care benefits

I bought this sulfur soap bar not long ago for my face and I can already see the benefits for my skin. Firstly, if you have oily skin, sulfur soap bar helps control oily skin very well. Though it is does not dry out the skin. It is a natural treatment for oily or acne prone skin. Two benefits in one.

If you do have oily skin, you probably have acne. Oily skin is the most prone to acne. Sulfur soap helps clear acne. It is a gentle cleanser and helps control skin inflammation, which can lead to acne.

Sulfur soap actually works for skin problems. I have tried it. Plus, it won’t break the bank. I am horrified to think how much money people do spend on products to treat their skin problems.

Sulfur fights bacteria causing acne and blackheads and prevents skin inflammation reducing any acne. Because sulfur is a natural exfoliant it helps clear skin blemishes. Sulfur soap bar is for you if you want to treat skin problems naturally.

The sulfur soap I bought is quite chunky and so it will last you quite a while.

Another bonus.

"Sulfur soap actually works for skin problems. I have tried it. Plus, it won’t break the bank."

I am not suggesting sulfur is a miracle cure for skin blemishes. You have to combine this with regular exercise and healthy nutrition.

Otherwise, you are just masking the cause, you are not addressing the problem.

Is sulfur safe for skin care?

Sulfur based skin care products are safe for skin. They will usually contain 10% of sulfur, which is the maximum level permitted.

Just make sure that when you wash your face you avoid the eyes as that can sting. I find sulfur soap really gentle on my skin. But then my skin is more on the oily side. Oily skin is less sensitive and can withstand a lot.

If you do have eczema or sensitive skin then you can use the soap once in a few days. Try and see how it feels for your skin.

I would say it is probably the more gentle treatment for acne and oily skin.
